ABOUT ME
MY STORY
As an actor and director, I am propelled by uplifting marginalized stories, of reinventing and challenging structures, and of blurring the lines between actor and audience. I have always been interested in best combining activism and art, using an interdisciplinary approach. This led me to double major in Theatre and Neuroscience at Northwestern University, and was the foundation for my Fulbright Arts grant in Brasil, where I studied Augusto Boal’s The Theatre of the Oppressed, and developed a curriculum model for best adapting it for neurodivergent individuals. I have presented my work at conferences such as the American Alliance for Theatre and Education annual conference, the Inclusive Theatre Festival, and the Winnifred Ward symposium. This coming April, I will be presenting my Fulbright work at New York University. My work centers around including marginalized voices in both production, process, and product, integrating accessibility every step of the way, ensuring empowerment is not a hopeful byproduct of the art I create, but is infused into the very essence of it.
“I never thought I would cry at the impassioned pleas of a trout. Thank you for your excellent performance!”
